Bean, Ham & Pasta Soup

Description: The use of canned beans will cut the cooking time down to 40 minutes.
Ingredients Amount Variations
water 6 cups  
Ham Redibase 2 Tablespoons Low Sodium Ham Base
pinto beans, canned 15 1/2 oz. can  
olive oil 2 Tablespoons  
ham, pieces, cooked 1/2 lb.  
onion, chopped 1 medium RC Roasted Onion Base
garlic, minced 2 cloves RC Roasted Garlic Base
tomato paste 1/4 cup  
bow-tie pasta or shells, cooked 1/2 cup measure dry, then cook in salted water.
black pepper, ground 1/4 teaspoon  
     

Directions:
Place water and Ham Redibase in a soup pot. Bring to a boil and blend base well to make Ham Stock.

In separate pot, heat olive oil. Sauté onion and garlic until limp.

Add sauteed garlic and onion to stock.

Add tomato paste, beans, ham, pepper and pasta.

Heat and serve.
