Stroganoff Style Veal Stew Category: beef/Soup/stew Get More Recipes

Description: Stroganoff style because it has that sour cream-white wine flavor.

Ingredients Amount Variations
stewing Veal, cubes 2 lbs.  
flour, salt & pepper to taste for dredging  
salad oil 1/4 cup  
RC Veal Base 2 tsp. RC Beef or Pork Base
water 2 cups  
mushrooms, sliced 1 cup
onions, chopped 1/4 cup  
flour 1 T.  
sour cream 1 cup  
white wine 1/2 cup  
worcestershire sauce 1 tsp.  
   
     

Directions:
Dredge veal in seasoned flour. Heat oil over medium high heat in 2 1/2 qt. Dutch oven. Brown veal cubes. Lower heat; add onions and mushrooms. Cook until soft.

Blend water, flour, Veal Base and sour cream in a bowl. Pour over veal and stir to blend. Add wine and Worcestershire sauce; mix well.

Cover and bake 1 1/2 to 2 hours at 350° until tender.

Stir occasionally.

Excellent with curried rice.
